Heading to VA
Bode Island Light House you see as you come into Manteo
We are two days in to our journey north to Severn. Shane and friends did this back in February for our haul out and bottom paint. Then Shane, Chip, Ella and I brought the boat back down in April. So these waters are pretty familiar at this point. However, there is always something new to experience. We left New Bern Saturday morning and made it up to River Dunes that afternoon. We enjoyed a lovely evening at their wonderful marina. Got to love a floating dock for us short legged mariners. The service there is always impeccable. Instead of their wonderful dinning room that we have enjoyed before, they were having a Labor Day pool side dinner. Good food and an excellent live musician.
Sunday morning we left early to make it to Manteo. We skirted just under the bridge with just some mild VHF flex. We made it to the Manteo Marina and successfully got tied up with no assistance. It’s hard to go from the great service of River Dunes to no service but we will make it ;). We plan to spend an extra night here, explore the town a little and then carry on.
