1/18/24-1/20/24
1/18/24 Continuing north, it was cloudy and overcast but still warm. We pulled up anchor about 9 and took off for Fort Pierce. We got in fueled up and got on the dock. Saw bunches of pelicans and a few manatees. When we got settled we ran a few errands. Called for an Uber and ended up with a “rock star” driver. Literally, he claimed to be a bass player with Meatloaf and other famous guys. He was a great driver too and waited for us at West Marine, Publics and then took us over to the island to a liquor store where Shane scored some Blantons. We got back to the boat and headed over to dinner right there at the marina. We enjoyed some live music and good food at Cobbs Landing. 23 nautical miles this day.
1/20/24 Baby it’s COLD outside! We headed out midmorning into a light wind in some chilly temps today. I did some reading inside and Shane and I huddled under the helm cover for a while. Thankfully we didn’t have far to go so by the mid afternoon we were pulling into Titusville. After a rough docking we got settled and decided to walk into town for dinner. We stopped and had a beer at Playalinda Brewery and then grabbed a burger at Burger Robs. Both were fun little spots. 36 nautical miles today.
1/19/24 Another day of bridges and traffic. We saw less traffic today after leaving Fort Pierce early. We traveled a little longer to get to Eau Gallie Marina in Melborne, Florida. The marina is tucked back nicely and they have the boats packed in but overall it was nice. We got settled and walked into town to the Post Office and to a recommended restaurant for dinner. We got a kick out of Squid Lips, the food was good and service was quick. We turned in early after a long day. 45 nautical miles today.
