1/21/24-1/25/24
1/21/24 We left Titusville in mid morning and continued north to Daytona Beach. More motoring, if you want to know where the wind is coming from just give us a ring and we will tell you which direction we are heading. We had a much more pleasant docking experience at Halifax Harbor. We got in and settled, made some water and did some laundry. We had an excellent recommendation for dinner at the Chart House. We walked over for a sunset dinner. It was nice.
1/22/24 The bridges and houses were quite the site on our next hop up to Palm Cost. A short day meant we got into a marina for a late lunch. We Uber-ed over to Bronx Pizza and enjoyed some old fashioned Chicago style pizza. We got back to the boat did some working. enjoyed dinner on the boat. A nice quiet marina, easy in and out.
1/23/24 We found some really skinny water and traversed a dredging operation on our way north to Jacksonville. More lovely houses and all kinds of pelicans, and shore birds were seen. It was a nice day. We had decided that Jacksonville would be our final stop for now. We traversed low tide to make it into the marina and fuel up and get on the dock. The marina/boat yard is good spot for the boat to stay for a while. We went and picked up a rental car, ran some errand and headed back to the boat. Lots of chores to do before leaving to boat.
1/24/24 Lots of boat work to button things up, laundry, full inventory, and mechanical checks. Shane met with a marine electrician about switching to some lithium ion batteries. Perhaps you’ve noticed we have pretty much been a dock princess this whole trip, we would love to spend some more time on anchor but our current setup just doesn’t allow for that. We are power hogs and mama like the temperature to be controlled, so we either have to plug in or run the generator. So Shane is working on a plan to help that and this meeting was step one. We did all our work and enjoyed dinner at Marker 32 to celebrate the current pause to the trip.
1/25/24 Locked her up and headed north on land, a brief stop in New Bern to pick up Shane’s truck that’s been at the home marina since early December and we made it home to our land bed by 9pm. Shane’s counting the days until we head back.
