3/31-4/2/24 Thunderbolt

3/31 We had a great night at Isle of Hope, they were gracious enough to lend us the courtesy car to move our rental up to Thunderbolt and come back to move the boat. We stayed on the dock a little longer than usual because we had just a short little hop back up to Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt was great to get us in ahead of our work on short notice. We took a quick motor up to Thunderbolt and got on the dock nice and easy. Another great facility. Nice dock folks every time we interacted. We got settled and walked up to Tubby’s for a quick dinner and the start of the basketball game. We will be at Thunderbolt for most of the week, at least until after our haul out and work and Wednesday/Thursday.

4/1 We are still and there is a great chandlery up the road so Monday turned out to be boat work and work work day. I got some work done, Shane took the rental car up to the supply house and a few other spots. We got things in order for projects and started ticking a few lingering To-Do’s off the list. Shane got cords tidied up around the boat, a good general clean up was in order and a few other things. To celebrate a job well done we took the car into Savannah and had an excellent Italian dinner at Bella. It was a quiet small spot, that wont seat parties bigger than 4. We were happy to get a little table and enjoy the food.

4/2 Another day of work in the books, Shane is making great progress on his list. Thunderbolt is such a large place they have a shipping department so we were able to get several Amazon packages delivered to finish some things up. Boat work and, work work continued for most of the day. We called it quits in the early evening and drove into Savanah again. We had had a suggestion to try Top Deck. It was good, not really our vibe as we are not really bar folk and while it did have food it was way more bar than restaurant. We ate some appetizers and had drinks and decided to walk around a bit. We checked to see if any other boats were fool enough to be on the Westin dock (there weren’t any this time). We walked the quaint cobble stone streets and took in the old oaks and lots of life that is downtown Savannah. We happened into a dessert bar where Shane got a coffee and Key Lime pie and I got a fun chocolate strawberry cake.
