1/10/24-1/11/24
1/10/24 A day of boat work, getting cleaned up and making sure we were squared away for the next leg of our journey. We will be making our way to West End and eventually hop back over to Florida and make our way back north. Lots of laundry done a few trips to closed stores; who knew that January 10th is Bahama’s Majority Rule day and everything would be closed!?! We survived though and even got to eat a lovely dinner at the Bistro at the Abaco Beach Resort. A great quiet day to wait out some storms that rolled through.
1/11/24 We got some new company on the boat, Mickey and Meredith joined us bright and early after a night in Nassau for them. We pulled off the dock around 9 and motored most of the morning in some cold rainy weather. Seas were a bit bumpy in our short time outside but calmed after. We pulled into Spanish Cay and got on the dock by about 3. We met Felix the dock master and walked to the beaches on the island. Collected conch shells and took in the sights of a mostly empty island. Spanish Cay used to be hopping but Dorian really did a number on it. We enjoyed dinner at the Marina with some decent food brough to us by our dock hand/ secretary/bartender/ dessert maker, she did all the things! Covered 37 nautical miles.
