1/7-1/9/24
1/7/24 Left the quiet peaceful scenery of Little Harbor and headed over to Hope Town. Flat day without much wind and we hit Hope Town at low tide which meant for some shallow waters leading to our entry. It was quite the parking lot in the harbor but the town was very quiet. We went ashore and walked through town, along another beach and down lots of tiny side roads. Being Sunday most things were closed so we decided to come back the next day. We enjoyed our best dinner yet at the Hope Town Inn and Marina. 21 nautical miles covered.
1/8/24 Started our last day off by heading back into Hope Town. We headed to the light house first and climbed to the top (well almost for some of us). We met some local boat folks from NC that were headed in to play pickle ball. Saw yet another liquor store and a few souvenir/ t-shirt shops. Got some ice-cream for Ella’s breakfast and headed back to the boat. Had lunch and headed out to get back to Marsh Harbor. The Boomerang crew raced us and won by a long shot but we were enjoying a leisurely last sail with all of us on the boat. 21 nautical miles.
1/9/24 We bid farewell to the whole crew. Todd and Annie first with the longest travel day. Then Dylan and Ella at lunch time and the Howells later. We went and grocery shopped and bought some more Bahamian beer to take home. Shane and I now find ourselves alone on the boat. It feels strange after such a fun filled few weeks with a whole crew of folks! We had dinner on the boat and even watched some TV.
