The Boomerang crew

1/4/24 Left Green Turtle around 9am, sailed some in the morning. Stopped at a snorkeling spot outside of Great Guana Cay. The surf was a bit much and no one lasted long. Came into Great Guana Cay to hop on another mooring ball. The experience was less than stellar in some winds with a grumpy old man yelling at us. (“Two Eyes”!) we ended up with a rope around our prop that required a dive to remedy. Todd came to the rescue, I was very happy to have him close by! All ended well with no damage to the mooring or the boat. We hopped in the dingy and rode in to see town. We walked across the island to Nippers. We walked down to the ocean side beach at Nippers. It was gorgeous with soft sand and turquoise waters. We walked the beach and enjoyed a rum punch at the bar. We decided to explore town a bit more and found the grocery store and liquor store (I think Shane is secretly on a Liquor store tour of the Bahamas without tell the rest of us). We ended up the night at Grabbers, a true beach bar. They had and iguana in a crab pot, games, a massage hut and their very own rum punch for us to try. We had dinner and watched the sun set. A great day despite the hiccups. 16 nautical miles covered today.

1/6/24 Hung out for a day in Little Harbor. We explored the caves and shore line. Grilled burgers on the boat for lunch. We all rested, walked the island, tried to paddle board and just generally explored in the afternoon. We saw the Yacht Club and lots of little cottages. We came back to shore for dinner at Pete’s Pub. Good food and drink and a fun time was had by all, except Slade who was not feeling well. It was nice to just hang out for a day. While we were there we left our mark, by signing one of our shirts and leaving it to mark our trip.

1/5/24 Left Great Guana Cay early and headed over to Mermaid Reef for snorkeling. Lots of little fish and coral seen by the crew. The Boomerang crew had a very low sitting dingy on the way back but they made it. We continued on to Little Harbor (where we had spent New Years eve). We had some lunch on the boats before we all went ashore and walked through the gallery and Pete’s Pub. We walked over to the ocean side and saw another pretty beach, this one was much more rocky and had lots of trash but still beautiful. We had some drinks at Pete’s Pub and came back to the boat for games. 27 nautical miles covered.
