1/1/24-1/3/24
1/1/24 After our early night in Little Harbor we left in the morning heading to Marsh Harbor. A nice quiet smooth ride was enjoyed by all. We got to fly the code zero and main sail finally . We stopped just before Marsh Harbor for a quick dip. Annie proclaimed it not as cold as Nova Scotia! Ella said “it’s not warm,” but all 4 sawm for a while. They put on snorkels and saw star fish and collected a sea biscuit. We pulled in to fuel up at the Conch Inn and Marina, the best service at a marina we had all trip. The rest of the gang arrived just as we were pulling into our slip. We had a not so great lunch at Snappers. We had a boat full of folks for some fellowship before bed that night. 22 nautical miles covered.
1/2/24 A day spent provisioning, we made grocery runs to Maxwells, liquor store runs for Bahamian products and just general gathering of stuff for the week ahead. Everyone walked/biked and explored Marsh Harbor. Chip, Sandy, Georgia and Slade got access to their charter boat and Todd and Annie got moved over to their boat. They got settled and got their briefing for departure the next day. After a full day we all walked down to Colors for a bar food dinner and to hear some awful Karaoke. We all turned in ready for our adventure to begin the next day.
1/3/24 The morning didn’t go quite as planned for the Boomerang crew. Sandy fell on some broken stairs in the boat, then there was an alternator problem that caused a quick turn around just after they got off the dock. We finally got under way and were able to motor sail up to Crab Cay. We anchored and rafted up together for an afternoon outing. Some folks paddle boarded and some snorkeled. We took the dinghy to Nunjack Harbor and saw some giant starfish, a few turtles and a lot of grass on the bottom. We came back to the boat and motored back down to Green Turtle Cay for the night. We hopped on a mooring ball and went out to dinner at the Boathouse Marina. Great service and a good time. We hung out back at the boat for some games and fun. 27 nautical miles covered.
