3/25-3/27/24 Fernandina-Brunswick

3/25 We said goodbye to Fernandina Beach and headed further north to Brunswick, Georgia. We passed the sub base and all kinds of coast guard boats (apparently they were brining in a disabled vessel). The weather was a little iffy, scattered showers and colder than we would like. We had some sporty conditions that got our attention as crossing the Saint Andrews Sound. The wind was coming out of the north and made it less than pleasant. We powered through and mad it into Brunswick Landing Marina mid afternoon. We got off the boat and walked downtown in Brunswick, found a little pizza place (Arte’s) and had dinner.

3/26 The electrician that Shane helped do our electric upgrade met us at the boat for one last part install. I got some work done as did Shane. Brunswick is not a huge town but a quiet little area to walk around downtown. Little quiet parks with benches and water fountains. Shane hit up Schroders Market for milk and some pastries for the next few days. We found a nicer restaurant and decided to try that for dinner. It was on the top floor of the Kress Hotel called, 1809. Food was good and it was a nice fun little spot.

3/27 The original plan had been to head further north this morning. We woke up to rain and wind and just yuck that looked like it would continue all day. So we opted to lay up another day in Brunswick. During a lull in the rain I walked downtown to take some mail to the post office. Shane and I both worked a bit. Trying to figure out the balance of work and boat life. We opted to walk around downtown one last night and wondered into a bar for dinner. We had a quick bite as the whole place was booked for trivia about 45 minutes after we got there and we sure didn’t want to get stuck in that. Over all Brunswick was a fun small town with a few shops and spots to eat, no really easy grocery store though.
